The above named was in the service of this Bank from

October 1901 until October 1902 when he left us. He rejoined

our service in September 1903 and remained with us until November

1909. Again he was re-engaged in February 1910 and remained

with us until June 1916. You will observe, therefore, that with

the exception of two periods, he was with us for nearly 15 years

and during that time his conduct was quite satisfactory.

As you are aware, he joined the South African Light Horse and

was wounded at Colenzo - he was invalided home and returned

to South Africa as a Commissioned Officer, finally resigning in

August 1901. Before coming to us he was, I believe, a

Shipping Clerk for 4 years in Hongkong, and he also had visited

New Zealand.

I hope this information may help towards securing a

passport for Fredericks to leave this country, I suggest that
